The new Apeks XTX 50 takes all that is good from its predecessor and offers even more with stunning looks and practical improvements.
Apeks regulators are made to high standards in the most advanced factory in the world for regulator design and manufacture with exceptional quality controls. Apeks do not make regulators for anyone else, so to ensure you get an authentic Apeks regulator, branding is now clearly visible on both the 1st and 2nd stages of the new XTX50.
The XTX50 regulator can be converted from a right handed hose configuration (as supplied from the APEKS factory) to a left handed one. This feature is known as the Reversible Venturi System (RVS). Changing the regulator to a left handed configuration is both quick and simple and can be performed by any APEKS Authorised Service Technician
The XTX50 2nd stage and XTX 40 Octopus incorporates the Diver Changeable Exhaust system (DCE) that gives divers the ability to change from the larger exhaust tee (supplied as standard) to a smaller version. The wider exhaust tee is good for minimal bubble interference (essential for underwater photography) and a narrow exhaust tee offers a smaller, more compact regulator
The XTX50 2nd stage and XTX 40 Octopus are now manufactured with active protection against infection as all moulded parts are made with an additive that kills MRSA, protects against E-Coli, bacteria and fungi and is also very effective against viruses, mould, yeast and algae.
The XTX40 octopus incorporates a new two-shot high strength composite front cover, improving the durability of the most vulnerable part of the demand valve. An octopus can be particularly prone to damage and so this is of significant benefit.
The octopus has been made in the most appropraite colours for emergency use.
The new ergonomic Venturi lever of the XTX40 has been designed to reduce the amount of grit ingress.
A new silicone exhaust valve has been used on the XTX40 improving breathing performance
