Description
Dive Rite now offers a package specifically designed for Cave Divers. The Dive Rite Cavern Diver Essentials Package includes the Dive Rite AC3208 Line Cutter w/ Sheath, Dive Rite 120 Foot Finger Spool w/ Orange Line, HW1025 Dive Rite Small Snap Bolt, AC2017-W Dive Rite Line Cookie and the AC2058 Dive Rite Executive Slate. The Dive Rite Line Cutter is the cutting tool that every diver should carry. Sharper than a standard dive knife, the line cutter uses a 420 surgical grade stainless steel blade that can easily cut through braided line, monofilament, or any other line entanglement. Housed in a heavy-duty fiber reinforced nylon body, the blade is easily removed for cleaning and replacement. In the early days of cave diving, reels were not available to buy off the shelf. Divers used anything they could, including empty electrical wire spools. When exploring, divers would pay out the line and if they didn’t empty the spool it would be left in the cave for the next dive. The spools came in various sizes and North Florida cave diver, Bill Hogarth Main, popularized smaller spools for safety and jump reels. Today, the Dive Rite 120 foot Finger Spool is often used for shooting lift bags as well as a safety reel. Small and low-profile, a spool fits nicely out of the way in a pocket or clipped off to a D-ring. The holes in the side allow for clipping in the double ended snap anywhere along the perimeter of the spool to keep the line tight when not in use. Made of ABS plastic, finger spools are simple to use and virtually indestructible in the water. The Dive Rite 120 foot Finger Spool is available with #24 white or orange hi-viz line, and come standard with a large stainless double ended clip. Made of marine grade 316 stainless steel, The Dive Rite Small Swivel Bolt Snap is designed for saltwater use and feature swiveling bases for ease of connection. Each Dive Rite Small Swivel Bolt Snap is meticulously inspected at the Dive Rite factory to ensure smooth edges that won’t cut fingers and that gates open and shut reliably. Sometimes a directional marker (line arrow) is not the proper marker to leave -Dive Rite Line Cookie- Non-directional cookies mark a specific place on the line, but do not give directional information. The Dive Rite Line Cookies are preferred over line arrows for setting up traverses or circuits because they avoid the possibility of having directional markers on the line which could point away from the closest exit, which could be disastrous in an emergency. The Dive Rite Line Cookies can also offer reassurance during stressful moments. The Dive Rite Line Cookies are a must at jumps, especially jumps made from points at which no permanent marker has been installed. Placed on the outbound side of the jump, the Dive Rite Line Cookies confirm exit direction as divers return to the jump. The Dive Rite Executive Slate has six, compact erasable slates held together by a couple of stainless steel rings. A cord with sleeve stows the attached solid carbon stick pencil. Small enough to fit in any pocket or grouped with other larger items, the Dive Rite Executive Slate is ideal for note taking or a back up communication device.
